Harry S. Truman Scholarship
National award that provides funding towards senior year and for the first three years of graduate study. Designed for students interested in a career in public service (defined very broadly). Although the Truman Foundation does not give preference to law students, students going to law school and interested in a career in public service may apply. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit. Demonstrated high level of academic achievement characterize the winners.
Eligibility
Juniors who have extensive record of public and community service; are committed to careers in public service. Must be U.S. citizen or U.S. national
Duration
Funding towards senior year and up to three years of graduate studies.
Amount
$3,000 for the senior year and up to $27,000 for the first three years of graduate studies.

Selection Process
Applications are submitted to a faculty committee who may nominate three students (sometimes four.) The official contains more information.
