The Guiding Principles for the Workday Transition have been broken down across the following four areas: Experience Focused, Trusted, Standards-Based, Dynamic.

Strategic Goals:

  • Provide a modern, intuitive, personalized and accessible user experience

  • Deliver efficient self-service with simplified and consistent processes

  • Reduce support activities and manual steps to free capacity for value-add activities by enhancing the user experience

Value Statements:

  • Colleagues can navigate through the system with ease.

  • Senior Staff will have real-time visibility to financial, team and organizational data

  • Financial planners will have access to accurate and complete information to support key activities

  • All users experience minimal disruption and continuity during the program

  • All users will have appropriate role-based access to manage their personal information and activities

  • Finance users will have appropriate role-based access to manage finance activities

  • Candidates have an improved experience

Success Metrics:

  • Reduce paper-driven, manual processes and duplicate data entry across HR and Finance

  • Improve Gallup employee engagement scores

  • Increased adoption by users

  • Reduce use of emails in processes e.g. no emails used in procurement processes

Strategic Goals:

  • Create a single, trusted source of truth common across Finance and HR

  • Provide real time access to coherent, accurate information to support informed decision-making and data-driven insights

  • Give users assurance and confidence by providing a secure solution managed by a common security model

Value Statements:

  • Leaders trust the information is accurate and will support tactical and strategic decisions 

  • Leaders will have easy accessibility to data to make decisions and take actions

  • Budget holders will be able to access accurate information to support their planning/role

  • Budget holders have a more complete and timely view of transactions/actuals

  • Finance team have reduced manual tasks for managing system access

  • PO raisers simplified (not using email) with approvals built into the workflow

  • Procurement office  can manage the catalog simpler and quicker (AP) with reduced manual steps

  • Reduce shadow systems and off-line data manipulation

  • Deliver standard, automated, simplified workflows, informed by leading practices by leveraging Workdays existing functionality

  • Student Workers would have access to scheduling and rostering

  • Target Accounts Payable to 2 days by removing manual entry

  • Simplify the technology landscape by reducing the number of systems in use and enhance integrations to other systems

  • Deliver a flexible solution which adapts to new ways of working and allows continuous improvement

  • Provide an agile foundation solution ready for the future with reduced time to release enhancements

  • Supervisors will utilize streamlined automated processes to make changes to their teams data

  • Human Resources will replace manual time intense process reviews with streamlined, automated end to end processes that will increase accuracy and quality

  • HR have improved information on candidates and transparency to key data e.g. DEI

  • Performance Improvement plans are available in a single system

  • Hiring managers have a consistent, simplified job requisition process

Success Metrics:

  • Reduce annual budget preparation time

  • Reduce technical support requests
