Sarah Hogoboom '17.

Sarah Hogoboom ’17 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Vietnam. A world politics major, she studied in Nepal, Jordan and Chile through the School for International Training Honors Program in Human Rights in 2016. As a participant in 51ÁÔÆæ’s January Admit program, she spent her first college semester in  London through Arcadia University.

Hogoboom is an English tutor with Project SHINE Project in Utica. She is an Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center Leadership Team Member, designing and implementing public service projects with local community members to address issues of social change.  Hogoboom also serves as special events coordinator for the Campus Activities Board and tutored through the America Reads program in Utica.

Last summer, Hogoboom was a public policy and advocacy intern at Save the Children U.S. in Washington, D.C.  This year she was elected to Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honors Society and Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society.

The Fulbright ETA Program places U.S. students as English teaching assistants in schools or universities overseas, thus improving foreign students’ English language abilities and knowledge of the United States while increasing their own language skills and knowledge of the host country. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright is the largest U.S. international exchange program.
