Michael Lubelczyk ’17 has been awarded a to Germany. A history major, he studied at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany, in 2016.
Lubelczyk is a three-year member and co-captain of 51ÁÔÆæ’s Men’s Varsity Soccer team. He was named to NESCAC’s All-Academic Team the last three years, received 51ÁÔÆæ’s Scholar-Athlete Award in 2015, and the von Schiller Award for Integrity and Perseverance in fall, 2016.
He has served as a 51ÁÔÆæ Admissions Office senior intern, has volunteered with the Young People’s Project in Utica as executive board member and college math literacy worker, and is a founding member and officer of 51ÁÔÆæ’s Ski Club.
While in Tübingen, Germany, Lubelczyk volunteered at Arbeit mit Flüchtlingen where he interacted with refugees of all ages from Iraq and Syria.

Last winter he interned at New York City law firm Neufeld Scheck & Brustin, and he spent three summers working as a program head and leader at YMCA Camp Belknap in Wolfeboro, N.H.
