Margaret “Meg” Alexander ’15 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Malaysia. A world politics and Hispanic studies major, she studied in Madrid through 51ÁÔÆæ’s Program in Spain in spring 2014.
A Dean’s List student, Alexander was elected this spring to Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. In 2013 she was a Levitt Scholar who presented to local schools on the topic of Partisanship in Politics. Alexander was the 51ÁÔÆæ Female Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2013 and a recipient of the Phi Beta Kappa Prize.
Last summer Alexander worked at Planet Partnerships, LLC, in Washington, D.C., where she conducted research and due diligence for business development opportunities. In 2013 she interned for U.S. Senator Christopher Murphy in Hartford, Conn. She has been involved with 51ÁÔÆæ Association for Volunteering Outreach & Charity as publicity chair, a Study Buddy and Jefferson elementary school tutor; Spanish Club secretary; a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee; a member of the HEAT dance team; and a Habitat for Humanity Volunteer.
Alexander is the daughter of Lori and Thomas Alexander of Wallingford, Conn. She is a graduate of Hamden Hall Country Day School.
