Molly Clark '19

Molly Clark ’19 has been awarded a to South Korea. A public policy major and Hispanic Studies minor­­, Clark studied in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2018, and in in 2017.

“I was initially interested in Fulbright because my Spanish and Korean classes at 51ÁÔÆæ taught me how important mastery of language can be in understanding culture,” said Clark. “I’m particularly excited to work with students and learn about how the Korean classroom shapes their worldview.”

At 51ÁÔÆæ, Clark has managed the Career Center’s Connect team for the past two years, and currently manages the Arts & Entertainment and Communications Connect Teams. She has also been involved with the Asian Student Association, the Levitt Center Social Innovation team, and Student Assembly.

Last summer Clark took part in the Council of Korean Americans Public Service Internship Program and served as legislative intern in Congresswoman Judy Chu’s office. In 2017 she interned for OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates in Washington, D.C., and for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.       

“The Fulbright program offers a unique opportunity to really immerse myself in Korean culture, both in the classroom and with my host family. Given my personal connection to Korea as a Korean American adoptee, I am excited to be able to connect with my heritage in a new way,” Clark said.                

When she returns to the U.S. she hopes to continue studying Korean and working with Asian-American youth.
