Victoria Blumenfeld ’16 has received a to Malaysia from the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Blumenfeld will support the teaching of English at Malaysian secondary schools as part of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship during the 2017-18 academic year.
A philosophy major at 51ÁÔÆæ, Blumenfeld has spent the year since her graduation working in the non-profit sector. Last summer, she interned for the a public benefit corporation that seeks to improve human health and well-being in the built environment.
During the past year Blumenfeld has worked as program coordinator of the Development School for Youth at the In the Development School for Youth, inner-city teenagers learn to perform as professionals through a rigorous series of career-education and leadership workshops and paid summer internships at leading companies.

Blumenfeld is one of over 1,900 U.S. citizens who will conduct research, teach English, and provide expertise abroad through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. It is funded through an annual appropriation made by the U.S. Congress to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
