The annual 51ÁÔÆæ Pitch Competition, which is open to 51ÁÔÆæ students and graduates of the last decade, is an involved process from September through April. Eight start-ups participated this year, attending conferences on the ins and outs of entrepreneurship hosted by a variety of alumni.

H.E.A.T. Wins Pitch Competition

Three 51ÁÔÆæ students who developed a Home Energy Assessment Tool (H.E.A.T.) won the grand prize at the eighth annual Pitch Competition. The team of Anna Mowat ’18, Ash Kahn ’17 and Leo Kell ’17 generated an algorithm, accessible by smartphone app, with a 90% accuracy rate. The formula helps homeowners reduce their energy bill without hiring inspectors.
