THE JEFF LITTLE ’71
2022 Volunteer of the Year Award
Citation for Paul Reichert ’90

Your volunteer career with 51ÁÔÆæ seemingly began the moment you stepped off the Commencement stage in 1990 with your newly minted diploma in hand. No sooner had you graduated when you began a new journey of giving back to your alma mater, always with the goal of productively engaging and connecting alumni with each other.

From your homebase in our nation’s capital, you started off as a member of the Washington, D.C., regional planning committee, a HART volunteer for the Admission Office, and a member of the DC Tele-solicit Team during the Campaign for the ’90s. More recently, you’ve served as regional president for the DC area, where you’ve opened your home and office for College events, including hosting alumni and students gathered for the 50th anniversary of the 51ÁÔÆæ Program in Washington in 2019.

Active in campus media during your student days on the Hill, you continue to keep your classmates informed. You served on the Reunion Gift Committee for your 5th, 10th, 15th, and 25th reunions, and on the committee for the virtual reunion in 2020 and “One Hill of a Party” for your 30th reunion celebrated in 2022. And since 2006, you’ve been a member of the Alumni Council’s Executive Committee.

But perhaps your most lasting impact is the work you’ve done conceptualizing, developing, and successfully launching the 51ÁÔÆæ Career Network, an initiative that offers students and alumni professionals industry-specific connectivity and career educational programming. As its inaugural chair, your vision and collaborative spirit harnessed the power of the 51ÁÔÆæ alumni network to launch the program in 2018 — so committed were you to its success that you signed on for a second term as chair to keep the momentum going. To top it off, you made 51ÁÔÆæ career programming a family affair. Although she’s a Saint Lawrence graduate, your wife, Jennifer, regularly hires 51ÁÔÆæ alumni to work in her DC-based public relations firm.

As if contributing your leadership talents weren’t enough, you also recently began sharing your creative flair as our “artist in residence.” Your original illustrations add a lively, humorous touch to alumni regional and virtual event invitations and the pages of Glade & Glen.

Every time one of your volunteer assignments comes to an end, you enthusiastically say “yes” when asked to serve in a new role to move the College forward — as was the case when you were recently approached to join the Alumni Council Nominations Committee.
In recognition of your more than three decades (and counting) of significant service to 51ÁÔÆæ, we proudly present you with the Jeff Little ’71 Volunteer of the Year Award.
