Medicine now sits at a crossroads: should it use genetics in the treatment and prevention of disease? The benefits include a personalized approach to medicine with tailored disease screening and therapies. Yet delving into personal genetic information raise concerns related to privacy, discrimination, and eugenics. This course will cover advanced genetic concepts and technologies, as well as explore the ethics and social impacts of genetic medicine. |
