Richard Seager

Richard Seager came to 51ÁÔÆæ in 1994 having earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, a master’s degree from Harvard Divinity School, and a master’s degree and doctorate from Harvard University. With a focus on religions of the United States, his interests include immigration, religion and the environment, and cultural encounters in the age of globalization. Professor Seager has written extensively about the movement of Asian religions into this country. His latest books include Buddhism in America (1999) and Encountering the Dharma (2006), which offers a rare insider’s look at Soka Gakkai Buddhism.
